I picture myself 15 years ago sitting at my desk writing in my journal. Back then I would write and dream about how I viewed the world of what I thought it looked like outside of my bedroom. I always was an creative kid, visiting the library reading nonfictional books about the world, cutting out pictures from magazines, and always listening to travel stories told by my Aunt Mary & Uncle Jud. I never did imagine that 15 years from then I would be lucky enough to see the world for what it truly and beautifully is today.
I promised myself to keep this blog current and share it with my friends and family so here is a start in hope that it sticks! My number one travel destination had always been Thailand, for as long as I can remember, but Tokyo always came in at a close second. When I got the opportunity to travel to Tokyo a few weeks ago the first thing I packed was my camera! I guess you could say I travel light since I NEVER bring my dslr camera (and why this is...I have no idea!) . I have had so many opportunities while traveling to wander off with my camera and take some opportunistic photos, however I chose to live in the moment instead. Well, this year will change. I made a promise to myself to take LOTS of photos because I may never have that opportunity again.
With all of my babbling out of the way I hope you will see the Tokyo I saw through my eyes and the lens of my camera. Tokyo is the most clean, cultured, and caring city I have ever been to. Never once did I feel threatened, in fact I have never had so many strangers help with directions! I have never seen a street sweeper on a sidewalk! And I have never visited a city that embraces their culture like Tokyo. Tanoshimu!
